Cameron M. Fernandez – Founder
Cameron M. Fernandez graduated with High Honors from Santa Barbara College of Law in 2005, having attended law school while working full-time at the Law Offices of Shannon L. Fernandez and raising his family. During law school, Cameron completed internships with Santa Barbara County Superior Court Judge Rogelio Flores, as well as the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office.
Cameron became a partner of Fernandez & Fernandez in 2007. Cameron is among a very select group of attorneys to achieve the status of a Certified Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization and the Martindale Hubbel AV Preeminent award. In addition, Cameron been named to The National Trial Lawyers’ prestigious list of top 40 attorneys under 40 years of age and carries a Superb rating by Avvo. Although relatively young, Cameron is one of the most decorated family law attorneys in the state.
Cameron has developed a superb reputation amongst his peers and the judiciary for being an extremely bright and talented lawyer. Almost entirely by word of mouth, Cameron’s reputation has preceeded him and Cameron is now highly sought after by clients who have assets to protect and who demand high quality representation. Cameron has also accepted court appointments to serve as minor’s counsel in complex child custody cases.
Cameron has been married for over 15 years. He and his wife Rachael are the parents of 5 wonderful children. In his spare time, Cameron enjoys spending time with his wife and children, surfing, traveling and playing basketball and baseball and serving in his church.
Dallas C. Simkins arrives in Central California after exclusively practicing family law in Orange County, California for over five years. He carries with him many memories and experiences that led him to practice family law. From mowing lawns during the summers in Southern Utah as a child, to working alongside his father for John Deere in high school, to working for Best Buy in college, Dallas brings his skills and knowledge to the table to compete at the highest level.
Dallas graduated from Dixie State University in St. George, Utah with a degree in business administration. He and his wife then moved to California where Dallas attended law school at Western State University College of Law while also earning his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at the same time. In law school, Dallas interned for The Honorable Clay M. Smith, Superior Court of Orange County, where he earned an appreciation for family law participants on a judicial level.
Immediately following law school, Dallas worked for a highly-esteemed family law office where he learned to hone his skills as a family law practitioner. His article about adult child support was published in Orange County Lawyer Magazine in November 2013. He speaks Spanish fluently.
Dallas and his wife have been married for over ten years and are proud parents of two children. When not working at the office, Dallas enjoys working on old cars, computers, and spending time with his family.
David N. Booth
After graduating from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s degree in history, David attended Chapman University School of Law in Orange County. While attending Chapman University School of Law David clerked for the 4th District Court of Utah and completed a two year internship with the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office.
David Graduated from Chapman University with honors in writing and immediately went to work for the Orange County Department of Child Support Services (DCSS). The experience David gained at the Department of Child Support Services gives him a decided advantage over most other attorneys he faces in child support cases. This specialized experience is a huge benefit to David’s clients with child support components to their cases. David left the Orange County DCSS to become a Deputy District Attorney where he prosecuted many cases successfully and honed his trial skills.
David eventually returned to his favorite area of practice, family law, and is now one of the most recognized and sought after, under age 40 attorneys in Orange County, David thrives in complex custody/visitation litigation and dissolution matters. David sets himself apart by his fierce work ethic, his fearlessness, and his personalized service to his clients. David is a recipient of the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 Award, and has been recognized for the past 3 years a Rising Star by Super Lawyers.
David has been happily married for over 12 years now and is the father of four young children. David is an avid mountain biker. And, when David is not with his wife and children he is most likely in the mountains climbing the steepest and dustiest trails he can find.
Jon Mason is one of the brightest stars in the field of Orange County Family Law. Jon has dedicated his life to education and learning, obtaining an undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and a Master’s Degree from the University of Florida’s lauded College of Journalism and Communications, focusing his studies on the complex discipline of media law. After finishing his Master’s Degree, Jon took his considerable writing and communication skills to a San Diego advertising and marketing firm and continued his study of law at Chapman University Fowler School of Law in Orange County, California.
During his time at Chapman, Jon was awarded the Rutan & Tucker Golden Gavel award, given to the first-year law student demonstrating superior courtroom advocacy skills. Jon’s love for the law and the courtroom resulted in his representing Chapman’s Moot Court, Mock Trial, and Alternative Dispute Resolution teams in competitions throughout the United States. Jon further honed his legal skills and prepared for life in the courtroom by spending his summers during law school working for the Riverside County District Attorney’s office (who recruited him thereafter), as well as externing for an Orange County family law commissioner. At the close of his time at Chapman Law, the law school’s faculty and administration bestowed Jon with their Professionalism Awarded, while his law school peers deemed him the most inspirational student in his graduatin class.
Upon graduating from Chapman Law, Jon began his career in litigation with the firm of Smith LC in Irvine, California. Much to the delight of his family law clients, Jon has now put his litigation and trial skills to use fighting for families in the area of family law. Jon cares for each of his clients, and each client that meets him loves him. He fights to provide them with effective and personalized advocacy, and to protect their rights.
When he is not winning in the courtroom, Jon can be found spending time with his wife and four sons. Jon is actively involved in church, youth education, musical pursuits, and outdoor recreation.
